Resolution

Image resolutionImage resolution is the number of dots or pixels that fit into one inch of space. "Higher resolution... is the number of dots or pixels that fit into one inch of space. “Higher resolution” means more image detail creating a high-quality, sharper image.

The standard rule of thumb for print is to use images at 300 DPI or greater, and for web, use images no lower than 72 DPI.
